How to Select a Blog Topic...

I've come across many friends who want to get into blogging, but cannot zero-in on a topic... I can broadly classify them into 2 types:-1. Either they know the concept / news on which they want to write but are unable to find a suitable topic…
2. They want to write a blog, but have no idea about the topic…

Most of them fall in the 2nd category.... And why not, Blogging is what your friends are doing, why should you lag behind.. !! So, if you are one of those creative types, who can write on any damn thing under the sun, here are some ways you can select your next / first blog topic:1. Look around you...
If you are in office, observe the people around you… Every one is unique, in his/her own right… I am sure you will come across some characteristic on which you can write about 100 words!!! Want a more macro level topic… Look at your industry (skip your company, remember they are paying you) and you will find that there are lots of practices / concepts worth mentioning in a light-hearted humorous fashion... If you are at home, watch some serial you would never have watched all your life... Atleast now you have a topic to criticize the serial!!
If you don’t want to write about people, write about objects ... write about "what - if" topics… as in, what if something unusual / new can be done using an inanimate object... Now think about it, I don’t want to disclose my future topics... as if I had any!!!

2. Combine 2-3 unique words...
And you will get a new concept…!!! C'mon, that’s one of the way management terms are discovered…!!! But make sure you use opposite words… or contrasting phases… Else, the blog might just be too boring, just the way this blog is coming up…!!!3. Experiences...
If you want people to know what you are going through day in and day out... share your experiences... Write about what you ate in the morning, Why you reached office on time, Why your boss didn’t scold you today, Why you had Lunch early, Why you relaxed in the afternoon, Why you had snacks at 4 in the evening, Why your boss remembers you 5 minutes before leaving the office, Why you left late from office even though you worked for only 1 hour in your office, Blah, Blah, Blah... But yes, ensure that atleast your wife / girlfriend / your gang of friends are reading this... Else you can read it after publishing it, and in the process be the first one to read your own blog…!!!4. Current Affairs...
Write about Current affairs just like the 100-1000 bloggers out there... The best part is that atleast you have a topic to write on...5. Sports...
Write on sports to show that you have knowledge on sports (just the way I do) till you realize that everyone has knowledge on sports…!!! I am on the verge of realizing the same…

And finally, if you have absolutely no idea what to write on but still want to write something, try writing something on "How to select a blog topic..."
