Photoblog: Disparity

That's Mumbai's view from the airport. I think it sums up what Mumbai represents. You see the airplane in the front? That's for the middle and elite class. You see what's behind the airplane? That's slums of Mumbai!

Now there are two ways to look at it. One - the economic disparity within Mumbai. But I prefer to look at it differently. There's a place for everyone in Mumbai and Mumbai doesn't differentiate between the rich and poor.

PS: Trying to blog from my phone.

  3. Good post but that is not Asia's biggest slum. The slum in the picture is in Kurla while Asia's biggest slum was in Dharavi which now is the largest recycling centre in Mumbai.

    1. Thanks Buddy. Changed it in the post. However, I think there's a section of Dharavi that stretches till the Airport.. And we can see that we are landing..

    1. Thanks Ramya. Mumbai doesnt differentiate between the rich and poor. Anyone can dream here, some fulfil their dreams, some are unable to.. Yet we all survive..
